Welcome to Palazzo Rodio

Palazzo Rodio

Palazzo Rodio is located in the heart of the city of Ostuni, just a few meters from its historical centre and only 5km from the sea. It is considered one of the most beautiful 19th-century mansions of Ostuni. The rooms’ architecture is characterized by high star vaults and the frescoes of the main hall’s vault represent a beautiful celestial scene.

The apartments have been created maintaining the palace’s original structure. The rooms are spacious (>20 sqm) and bright, with en suite bathrooms and facilities. Moreover, every apartment can be arranged according to our guests’ needs.

The palace’s big courtyard is adorned with citrus trees, aromatic herbs and flowers which create a romantic atmosphere in this comfortable relaxing area. A spacious private car park for our guests is available just beside the courtyard.

Just a few meters from the palace you can find many restaurants, bars, cafes and nice shops.

Ostuni and surroundings

Ostuni is one of the most famous tourist destinations of High Salento in Apulia.

The old town, located on the top of a hill, can be seen from the coast, the coastal plain and the nearby hills, and this contributes to its fascinating atmosphere.

The coast stretches some 20 kilometers from Lido Morelli ( Park of the coastal dunes ) to Lamaforca , with a succession of beautiful places and beaches.

For years Ostuni gets coveted awards as the "Bandiera Blu" and the "Cinque Vele" of Legambiente and Touring Club and the "Bandiera Verde" for beaches ideal for children .

The territory is divided into two well defined zones : the hill that goes up to the Valle d' Itria ( 10 km ) , and the plain ulivetata downstream of the city .

The green olive trees ends and merges with the blue sea navy of Ostuni .

The ride of St. Oronzo is the most awaited festival and important Ostuni .

Every year on 25 , 26 and 27 August , days are dedicated to the saint : a procession of horses and riders decked to the nines , parades through the streets to escort the patron of the city .

The origins of the ride can now be traced back , with good safety margin , the second half of the seventeenth century , precisely in 1657. The plague invaded the Salento saving Ostuni and other cities of Terra d' Otranto . The miracle was attributed to St. Oronzo and every August 26 the ostunesi wanted to go in procession to the shrine erected in his honor .
